Full-data card for various e-mail and written reports, the last of which was an e-mail to their website. V/S was Y.K. Sharma, Director, SMS. As happened the last time I received QSLs from AIR, I received both their current Home Services and External Services schedules under separate cover (but no personal letter this time). QSL showed up 2 weeks later. The Home sked now has all the new 60 mb frequencies listed and took effect Oct 29th. Mr. Swamy thanks me for monitoring AIR transmitter, but regrets to inform that the broadcast monitored originated from AIR, Khampur-Delhi, not Bangalore.(I have long since discarded the printout, but I seem to recall DX info at the time listing this special broadcast as via Bangalore). Mr.Swamy goes on to state that he has forwarded my report to the Khampur-Delhi, Superintending Engineer. Also enclosed with his reply was a Bangalore frequency schedule requesting my monitoring of their station. In 22 days for $1. | I have received a QSL from AIR Jeypore for reception at s/on 0030 on 5040 in late June. The only thing different is that the QSL came from a report direct to them VIA EMAIL, and the return also via EMAIL. This (other than Leh), completes the AIR regionals QSL'd for me. The Assistant Station engineer is very prompt in responding to reports, and actually solicited a report from me via email. The other reports that I have seen recently I believe came from snail mail reports which were responded with e-mails. I have had terrrible problems in the past with mail actually getting to Mr. A.K. Bhatnagar at New Delhi. He will respond if the reports get there, but even some registered reports haven't made it. I hope that the email path opens up for Delhi, because at least an email is better than nothing. I would expect this fall DX season to see many reports of QSLs from this station. Mr. A. Chanti Babu, the Assistant station engineer, indicates in other emails that the AIR personnel are aware of the mail issue.
