| Dear DX Friends, Today I got a long, personal reply from Sudan Radio Service (SRS), which is the new name for Sudan Independent Radio Service. SRS is a new service committed to peace and development for Sudan. V/s Jeremy Grace is the Radio Programming Advisor and he told me that on Thursday, 7th of August they started their first ``regular`` broadcast with identification liners and some news in several languages of Sudan, including English, plus music. | Sudan Radio Svc, E-mail rcvd: "Dear Mr. Barbour. Thank you very much for your e-mail and rcpn rpt. Nice to know we are being tuned in so far outside our target area. We are b/cing Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 pm (GMT+2). We plan to expand to 4 hours per day, perhaps more, by the end of the year. For now, we are hrd at 17630 kHz during our first hour, 17660 kHz during our second hour. We expect that our fqys will change as SW xmtrs enter the winter schedule in late September/early October. English, Juba-AR, and AR will be hrd every day. We rotate the other prominent langs. of Sudan during the week: Monday - Dinka, Tuesday - Zande, Wednesday - Nuer and Moro, Thursday - Bari, Friday - Shilluk. Sie schreiben das sie über 500 reports per email and Telefon und viele mehr per post aus Norwegen Schweden Dänemark Deutschland Belgien Frankreich Niederland Nord-Irland Schottland und England. In Großbritannien war im das Signal gut im Osten Norden und Süden aber in West-London und West Midlands nicht so gut. Jetzt sollen die Technikerprüfen welche Optionen sie haben. Das Ergebnis sollten anfang August vorliegen. Anbei lag eine Postkarte mit einem Sendeschiff vom Sommer 97.
