"Bayrak International" (BRTK) : After many tries, replied by sending a non-detailed two page form ltr, mainly telling about the stn's past and present and the beauty of the island. They still list 6150 as an active channel, although it hasn't been observed for many months now. No v/s. The original rpt was sent after receiving them on 6159 carrying a relay of their FM svc in late January 1997. Address used for my last follow-up : BRT Sitesi, Mr. Ismet Kotak, Station Director, Dr. Fazil Kucuk Boulevard, Lefkosa TRNC, via Mersin 10. No address on the envelope, but it was stamped in Lefkosa. Radio Bayrak beantwortete meinen Bericht vom 28. Dezember mit einem detaillierten QSL Brief und einer Faltkarte mit Frequenzen und Telefonnumern für alle Radio & TV Programme der Station. Laut dem QSL Brief wurde zum Zeitpunkt des Empfanges auf 6150 kHz der Sender von 25 kW Nominalleistung nur mit 50% gefahren. Selbstverstaendlich erwaehnte ich in meinem Schreiben an die Station, dass 6150 kHz eine der unguenstigsten Frequenzen im 49-m-Band für Zentraleuropa ist, da diese und die Nachbarfrequenzen bekanntlich durch starke Stationen belegt sind. 6150, R Bayrak International. Two f/d QSL letters for my receptions on December 20 & 31, 2001, mailed in separate envelopes. Each included what they consider to be their "QSL card", which unfortunately makes no mention of QSL or verification. Rather, it is a folder with a picture of their studio and transmitter tower, and information about their various radio services, including names of station personnel and their phone numbers. According to the letter from v/s Mustafa Tosun, the power at the time of my receptions was 50% of the rated 25 kW for their transmitter. Also received a QSL from Bayrak- same QSL and letter as George Maroti received- mine for a Dec. 18 report. Sent e-mail to Mustafa which he answered by saying the transmission department would look at my report and send a QSL as appropriate. Took about 1 month for $2 and a cassette. Also promised future mailing with more info about Bayrak Radio & TV Corporation and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Letter was postmarked from Lefkosa. Bayrak, excellent veri ltr from Mustafa Tosun, Head, Transmission Dept, plus what the ltr refers to as their "QSL card" but which is actually a card about the stn containing photo, fqys, contact details. However, ltr contains excellent veri statement and full-data, incl. power ["25 kw (80% at the time of rcpn) "] and a nice "QSL" watermark at the bottom. Xmtr is at Iskele, 35.13N, 33.55E. This for postal rpt and CD covering rcpn on Mar 1 & 2. I was also in E-mail contact with Mustafa [mustafa.tosun@brtk.net], who says he sent an earlier ltr, which I did not receive; this apparent 2d ltr came via registered mail, 23 days in transit. Das gleiche habe ich gestern auch bekommen. Gab es bei dir eine richtige QSL-Karte? Der persönliche Brief ist völlig in Ordnung als QSL, verspricht aber auch eine QSL-Karte beiliegend. Beiliegend war neben der Touristenbroschüre ein Folder mit den ganzen Bayrak-Sendern sowie 3 Postkarten, die auch als Aufkleber verwendbar sind - aber keine "QSL-Karte". Kam vom gleichen v/s.... Vielleicht liegt's aber auch daran, dass der Umschlag von der Deutschen Post "wegen Beschädigung" zugeklebt worden ist...?!? (Einer von den DP-Klebestreifen babbt doch tatsächlich auf einer der Briefmarken! Mitten druff!) Alles in allem wunderbar. Heute lag ein Riesenumschlag im Briefkasten, im x-ten Anlauf gab es eine QSL von Radio Bayrak, 6150 kHz. Eine Touristenbroschüre über Nordzypern, eine QSL-Karte und ein persönlicher Brief. Verie-Signer Ülfet Kortmaz, Head of Bayrak International. Laufzeit 91 Tage, keine Ahnung, ob die Antwort auf den e-Mail-Bericht oder den Snailmail-Bericht mit IRC kam. 6150 kHz BRT : Auch ich habe heute einen großen Umschlag aus Nordzypern bekommen, mit dem gleichen Inhalt wie von einigen von Euch bereits beschrieben. Die Laufzeit betrug 130 Tage. Schon vor 2 Jahren erhielt ich meinen ersten Brief von der Station, die ich damals auf Mittelwelle gehört habe. Da kam eine QSL - Bestätigung in deutscher Sprache von einer Frau Batural, oder so ähnlich. Sie ist eine Österreicherin und hat einen Mann aus Nordzypern geheiratet. Gestern habe ich ein wenig in Deinen QSL- Pages geblättert und dabei fiel mir auf, dass etliche OM's im April eine Bestätigung von Radio Bayrak erhielten. Auch ich bekam nach 70 Tagen einen A4- Brief im April, der von der Post eingetütet wurde, weil er beschädigt war. Inhalt waren ein det. Brief, eine Faltkarte ohne Details (die sogenannte QSL im Bayrak- Sprachgebrauch), portkartengroße Sticker und ein Touristenmagazin. Gehört hatte ich Bayrak im Januar diesen Jahres auf 6150 kHz zwischen 4.50- 5.50 UTC. Manchmal kamen nur englische Popsongs, manchmal gab es auch Ansagen in englischer Sprache. Just received nice snail-mail verification letter and other things from R Bayrak, Lefkosa, TRNC. The letterhead gives their address as: Bayrak Radio & Television Corporation, PO Box 417 Lefkosa, Mersin 10, Turkey. The letter was signed by Ulfet Kortmaz, Head of Bayrak International. First name "U" has two top dots. This for my Feb 2003 e-mail report on 6150 kHz. Same report was also earlier verified with e-mail by Halil Balbaz, transmitter manager. Mein EB an BBC Zypern kam zurück als unzustellbar. Habe dann den Brief direkt an Merlin geschickt und erhielt nach 3 Tagen per E-Mail die Information,daß man sich über den Empfang freut,aber es gibt keine QSL dafür.
