| Normally I would wait to post this in the appropriate columns / publications, but feel I need to be a little grand about this. The mail person brought what I've been waiting for twenty years to finally arrive. I verification reply from the Voice of Maldives. This report was posted by my brother on a recent trip to the Czech Republic on / about October the 18th. The reply came today.25 days to reply. The verification consisted of my Prepared Verification Cards, signed and stamped, enclosed using my Self-addressed stamped envelope. The official seal of the Radio Maldives was posted with a illegible signature. On the envelope this notation was posted : " Maldives Official Host Miss World 2000 Beachware ".I'm taking the wife out for suppper.she's pleased so am I that I can finally close the chapter on this one ! | E.Kusalik-AB-CAN | direct to QIP | Nov 00 |
| 4754, R. Maldives, my quest since Dec 1979 finally came to and end with the return of my ppc's, signed and stamped, using the SASE. After numerous rpts sent direct, registered follow-ups, attempts even with their UN rep, to no avail. I even tried amateur DXpedition c / o EA3BT with no results; even with Victor Goonetilleke's assistance I missed the opportunity to get a direct reply. Finally, I had my brother post my ltr (along with three others) from Prague, Czech Republic. The reply came in 25 days ! On the envelope there was an endorsement for the Miss World 2000 Beachwear contest being held in Male. The only one now left for the longest holdout is R. Hargesia.
