| AIR- Lucknow, 4880 kHz, F/d "Rock Shelter" QSL for a 1999 report after many follow-ups, but about a month after the latest e-mail to spectrum-manager. V/s Y.K. Sharma. I usually get a personal, though relatively standard, thank you when the e-mail is received by AIR, but this time I received a thank you and an apology for not receiving an earlier answer from AIR, so it was a glimmer of hope that resulted in a verification. This now makes my disappointment for receiving a "Delhi" station QSL in January for what I thought to be an Aligarh transmitter broadcast more palpable, since Lucknow and Aligarh are both in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This is Indian State #19 for me with reports still out for Kohima (from 2000) and Ranchi (from 2005), 2 other states I need. The reference number is 126 and the card was dated 20 Feb, so they appear to be averaging more than 3 QSLs per workday in 2006. Y.K. | Finally, a very nice f/d 'View of Five Rathas' QSL card in exactly 6 months from New Delhi confirming my reception of AIR Panaiji (GOA) for an e-mail reception report to S. Jayarman, Supt. Eng. concerning their requests for reports from that site back in January. I sent his copy of the e-mail via snail-mail (which he could not confirm as the program originated in New Delhi) to New Delhi. The card was signed by V. K. Sharma with all of the pertinant information for 11740 kHz @ 15,30 to 15.45 UTC in a black 'Sharpie' pen. However, written in blue underneath was the additional frequency of 9820 kHz with an indecipherable signature near the other. I've been after AIR Panaji for about 11 years. | Received a QSL from AIR today. Thought it might have been the Kohima transmitter which is my only outstanding report, but this was for a Dec 26, 2005 report that was already verified as Ranchi for 4960 kHz, the only listed AIR site on that frequency. The QSL today has Delhi listed for the transmitter. This is the second QSL within the past year that has listed Delhi as an incorrect transmitter site, but at least the last one I reported on (for Aligarh) also lists Delhi on that frequency for other times of the day. This time someone must have confused 4860 with 4960. | After many, MANY days, I have received a QSL from AIR for their 9910 kHz frequency. My goal was to verify the Aligarh transmitter site and thus verify Uttar Pradesh state which would be Indian state #19 QSLd from New York. Unfortunately, although the schedule says 2045-2230 UTC on 9910 is Aligarh, Y.K. Sharma has instead listed Delhi as the location for my 29 September 2005 report.
