| National Radio of Cambodia. Received a hand written, personalized, full page letter from -Kem Yam, Director of International Relations-, two station stickers, and a schedule. If I remember correctly I sent $ 1US, 1 IRC, and one postcard of Cleveland, Ohio about 60 days ago. My report was sent to him airmail, but not registered. Kem states in part that he was pleased I enjoyed the -Khmer song and music program- and hopes to hear from me again. His reply to me took 11 days via airmail. Information indicates the transmitters are old and they have no spare parts, so the -output power can not reach the original level-. The MW transmitter was donated by Russia in 1989 and is used for the home service. Schedule provided indicates 1360 kHz and 11940 kHz as follows : English 0000-0015 and 1200-1215 French 0015-0030 and 1215-1230 Thai 0030-0045 and 1230-1245 Lao 0045-0100 and 1245-1300 Vietnamese 0100-0115 and 1300-1315 | L.Silvi-OH-USA | Cumbre DX 195 | Jun 98 |

| Endlich mal wieder ein neues Land. National Radio of Cambodia bestätigte einen Reminder auf englisch über die Frequenz 11940 kHz nach 59 Tagen mit detailliertem Q8L-Schreiben, Send eplan und zwei Stickern. Dem ersten Brief hatte Rp beigelegen, dem Rerninder eine Ansichtskarte. v/s Kern Yan, Director of International Relations. Er teilte mit, daß mein erster Brief die Station nicht erreicht hat. Auf 11940 kHz wird mit 50 kW und auf 1360 kHz mit 1 kW gesendet. Die Anlagen sind zum Teil aber schon seit den 50er Jahren in Betrieb, so daß die Leistung nicht voll ausgeschöpft wird. Im Mittags-Px ist viel nationale Musik - sowohl traditionell als auch modern - zu hören. Gelegentlich kommen auch Wortbeiträge durch, u.a. zur Entwicklung des Landes.
