R Apinte 4990.96 f /d letter in 153 days for EE rpt and tape. Said they were using a 50W Phillips transmitter coupled to a 1KW Linear. The antenna is a 5 element mono- band Doublet Log Periodic with a gain of 10db. The transmitter is ment to serve the interior but they said -it is nice to receive reports from people abroad.- v/s Ch Vervuurt, General Manager. 4990.9 Radio Apintie Frustrated at having my registered report & audio tape returned by the post office, I sent an e-mail to the station (apintie@sr.net) asking for a correct address. The station manager, Charles Vervuurt, said the address in PWBR was correct, but I was welcome to send a report and brief audio clip via e-mail to him. Two weeks later, I received a p / d e-mail QSL from him, and 6 weeks later a QSL on the station's letterhead arrived. Radio Apintie, Suriname, 4990 kHz: Just received a QSL verifying my old reception report of Radio Apintie. The original report sent by snail mail went unanswered, but a follow-up with a sound file of the station ID finally netted an eQSL. All contact information can be found in the end of the enclosed eQSL sent by the station manager. But was the power at that time really only about 50 watts as I remember reading somewhere? Talked about new Omnitronics 1000 watts shortwave transmitter and six element log periodic antenna beamed to the south. Heute kam nach ca. 4 Monaten ein det. QSL-Brief von Radio Apintie, Surinam! Kurz und bündig. Gehört hatte ich sie auf 4990 kHz in der "Ruhe" des DX-Camps Langenselbold. Surinam ist damit eines der wenigen Länder, von dem ich genauso viele Logs wie QSLs habe, also 100% Ausbeute sozusagen. Sonst bin ich das eher aus dem Amateurfunk gewohnt (St Vincent, Komoren usw.).
