Mentioned their listening audience is 70% Native American, mainly Inupiat Eskimo and over 66% of the AM programming originates in their studios. KBRW sent a friendly e-mail reply to e-mail report + audio file in less than a day. V/s Mike Lane, GM said he tried DXing when he first arrived in Barrow 30+ years ago, but the only station he could regularly hear was WLW (in addition to unid Asians). One interesting bit of info is that they are working on getting another station on the air in the Big Lake /Houston area, KAGV 1110 with presumeably 10kW. Sehr hörerfreundlich ist die Station KNLS. QSL-Karte und Newsletter kommen in relativ kurzer Zeit, Rp nicht unbedingt notwendig, wird aber gern gesehen. Auf Anfrage verschickt die Station einen kleinen Wimpel und im Austausch auch Postkarten und Briefmarken. Dafür ist es nötig, die gleiche Anzahl von Marken oder Karten zuzuschicken, die man auch von der Station erhalten möchte. Pro Briefsendung gibt es maximal 5 Karten und 10 Marken. I just received a very nice and colorful QSL card (reception report acknowledgment) from HAARP for my submission of a reception report of their Moonbounce test on the Perseus. On 1/20/2008 I received both their transmitted signal and the returning "bounce" signal on 7407.5 kHz.
